The skill test for rescue teams should assess a variety of competencies and skills essential to dealing with emergency situations and carrying out rescue operations effectively. Test proposals covering various skills:


Yellow Level: Driving test of caving or climbing equipment (see tests below)


Levels from Orange to Gold:


Rescue Explorer Skill Test: "Emergency Operation"

Test Objective:

Assess rescue readiness and capability to address various emergency situations and conduct safe and efficient rescue operations.

Test Stations:

  1. Rapid Medical Assessment: (orange level)
  • Simulation of victims with various injuries.
  • The Explorer should perform a quick medical assessment and prioritize care based on the severity of the injuries.
  1. Height Rescue Technique: (orange level)
  • Scenario of a person trapped at height.
  • Use of POS techniques and security systems for rescue.
  1. Water Rescue Simulation: (Green Level)
  • Person with drowning risk simulation at sea.
  • Use of water rescue equipment, ropes and swimming techniques.
  1. Operation with vehicle accident: (Blue level)
  • Simulation of a vehicle accident with trapped people.
  • Use of extrication tools to free victims.
  1. Search and Rescue in Collapsed Structures: (Purple Level) Explorers 16 years and older
  • Scene of a collapsed building. Recreation of content with cardboard.
  • Use of search and extraction techniques in confined environments
  • Welding and oxy-cutting techniques
  1. Handling of Hazardous Substances: Bronze Level (!8 years)
  • Simulation of an incident with hazardous materials.
  • Use of protective equipment and techniques for the safe handling of dangerous substances.
  1. Advanced First Aid: (Silver Level) Explorers of legal age
  • Scenario with multiple victims.
  • Application of advanced first aid procedures and team coordination.
  1. Communication and Coordination: (Gold level) Over 18 years old
  • Simulation of an emergency situation with multiple rescue teams.
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of communication and coordination between teams.

Assessment:

Each test station will be evaluated based on response time, accuracy of actions taken, and overall safety of Explorer rescue operations. Points will be assigned to each station, and the Explorer will be graded based on their overall performance.

This comprehensive test provides a realistic scenario to evaluate rescuer capability skills in various emergency situations and ensure they are prepared to face complex challenges.

Standard Level

(Yellow Badge)

Standard Test - Caving Equipment Assembly or Vertical Progression Techniques

  • Description: The Explorer must know how to assemble the equipment completely in less than 5 minutes, including helmet, harnesses, bags, etc... No error will be allowed in its placement.
  • 2nd Test: Knowledge of the Caving Equipment by names of each piece. 2 minutes maximum
  • 3rd Test: Making a correctly combed bow tie knot in 1 minute maximum.

Intermediate Level Knots

(Orange Badge)

Intermediate Test - The Orange tests are focused as follows:

Rapid Medical Assessment: (orange level)

  • Simulation of victims with various injuries.
  • The Explorer should perform a quick medical assessment and prioritize care based on the severity of the injuries.

Height Rescue Technique: (orange level)

  • Scenario of a person (doll) trapped at height.
  • Use of POS techniques and security systems for rescue.


Advanced Level Knots

(Green Badge)

Advanced Test - Perform a Sprint test of less than 1 minute and 30 seconds on a 15-meter rope. Without pantin

  1. Water Rescue Simulation: (Green Level)
  • Person with drowning risk simulation at sea.
  • Use of water rescue equipment, ropes and swimming techniques.

In each call, you can request the Standard level rescue test (Yellow)

Request the Test

Comuonly to the Director or your monitor, that you wish to take the test

Test time

The director will tell you what time you can do the knot test. This is done in the promise circular

1 Possibility every Saturday

You only have one chance each Saturday. Be sure you have mastered the technique at the time of the test

Time

You have 5 minutes of time. If you do not achieve it in the scheduled time or you have made a mistake, you can choose to do it next Saturday, with a penalty of 1 minute for each test repetition.

HIGH RANK BADGES


The higher Rescue Proficiency Badge is often awarded to those who have demonstrated continued commitment, leadership and exceptional skills in the safe and effective management of Rescue. Actively participates, seeks opportunities to learn and teach, and demonstrates responsibility in all rescue-related activities when the opportunity presents itself.
